Abstract:
The present invention results in a switch with which it is possible to prevent an arc from remaining on a movable contact point. The switch is provided with a fixed contact provided with a fixed contact point; a movable contact provided with a movable contact point that is in contact and non-contact with the fixed contact point; and an arc runner that uses electromagnetic force to drive an arc generated between the fixed contact point and the movable contact point. The arc runner is configured by a plane wall connected to the side of the movable contact opposite the movable contact point; and a side surface wall projecting from the plane wall to the movable contact point side and covering both side surfaces of the movable contact parallel in the energizing direction. The projecting end of the side surface wall projects as far as, or farther than, the joining surface position of the movable contact point and the movable contact.
