Abstract:
An external circuit (Rz, Cz) is connected to a polarity detection terminal (ZT) of a switching control IC (200). The increase value of the voltage of a pulse signal to be input to the polarity detection terminal (ZT) at an activation of a power supply varies in accordance with the external circuit. Therefore, the external circuit connected to the polarity detection terminal (ZT) sets the standby mode operative or inoperative. When the standby mode is operative, the blanking frequency varies in accordance with the voltage at a feedback terminal (FB), with the result that the switching loss for a light load is reduced. In this way, there are configured a switching control circuit and a switching power supply apparatus whereby the standby mode can be set operative or inoperative without using any dedicated terminals or whereby systems of the standby mode can be selected without using any dedicated terminals.
