Title:
SWITCHING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/011913
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In the present invention, a main switch circuit (13) is provided between a power line (PL), to which an output voltage of a solar cell (11) is applied, and a battery unit (12). A protection circuit (19) turns the main switch circuit (13) off so as to protect the battery unit (12) from overcharging when the voltage (VBAT) of the battery unit (12) is equal to or higher than an upper limit voltage. The output voltage of the solar cell (11) is set higher than the upper limit voltage in order to allow the battery unit (12) to be charged as high as the upper limit voltage. A control unit (18), upon receiving a charging on command signal, first turns only a sub-switch circuit (14) on so as to introduce the current from the solar cell (11) into a parallel circuit (15) in order to reduce the voltage (VPL) of the power line (PL) lower than the upper limit voltage, and subsequently turns the main switch circuit (13) on.
