Abstract:
The present invention relates to a switching-type power supply apparatus and to a control circuit having a power factor-correcting function. One or two switching elements are controlled so as to be opened/closed in accordance with a switching period and time corresponding to the feedback from a second power-converting unit so as to correct a power factor by means of a first power-converting unit such that input current having low harmonic distortion can flow, and at the same time, a second power-converting unit performs an operation to stabilize output voltage and current. Thus, the switching-type power supply apparatus and the control circuit of the present invention may provide the advantages of a simple configuration, small size, and reduced costs as compared to conventional technologies that require two independent control outputs and two independent switching elements.
