Abstract:
The switching valve of an embodiment is provided with: a body which has a refrigerant passage for connecting ports; a shaft which extends in the radial direction of the refrigerant passage and which is pivotally supported by the body; a valve body which selectively connects the ports by pivoting together with the shaft; a drive mechanism which drives the valve body through the shaft in the direction of opening and closing the refrigerant passage; a stepping motor which includes a rotor and a stator, the rotor operating the drive mechanism; and a can which is a cylindrical member affixed to the body and containing the rotor, the can defining both a pressure space in which the pressure of a refrigerant acts and a non-pressure space in which the pressure of the refrigerant does not act. The valve body includes a plate for constituting a butterfly valve, the plate pivoting together with the shaft and being capable of dividing the refrigerant passage into a high-pressure region and a low-pressure region. The pressure space of the can connects to the high-pressure region or the low-pressure region through a connection passage.
