Abstract:
A synchronous machine starting device for starting a synchronous machine (4) provided with an armature (ATU, ATV, ATW) for generating a rotating magnetic field and a rotor (RT) for generating a fixed magnetic field by supply of a field current is provided with a power conversion unit (71) for converting supplied power into alternating-current power and supplying the alternating-current power to the armature (ATU, ATV, ATW) of the synchronous machine (4), a rotor position detection unit (11) for detecting the position of the rotor of the synchronous machine (4) on the basis of alternating-current voltage in the armature (ATU, ATV, ATW) of the synchronous machine (4) detected by an alternating-current voltage detection unit (8), a power conversion control unit (19) for controlling the power conversion unit (71) on the basis of the position of the rotor detected by the rotor position detection unit (11), and an abnormality detection unit (10) for detecting rotation abnormality of the synchronous machine (4) on the basis of the alternating-current voltage detected by the alternating-current voltage detection unit (8) after the supply of the field current to the rotor (RT) of the synchronous machine (4) is started.
