Abstract:
The present invention relates to a synchronous motor. The synchronous motor according to the present invention includes: a shaft which provides a center of rotation; a rotor core surrounding the shaft; and a permanent magnet vertically embedded in the rotor core in the direction in which the shaft extends. According to the present invention, a non-rare earth permanent magnet is used instead of an expensive rare earth permanent magnet of the prior art, such that a synchronous motor for a traction machine can be manufactured at a reduced cost and in a shorter amount of time.
