Abstract:
A base sheet for synthetic leather comprising (1) a facer nonwoven fabric (A)
and (2) a backer nonwoven fabric (B), wherein the facer nonwoven fabric (A) is
a nonwoven fabric of synthetic fiber which is made by a wet papermaking method
and has a fineness of constituent fiber of 0.005 to 1.1dtex, a fiber length of 3
to 10mm, a basis weight of 20 to 150g/m2, a density of 0.30 to 0.50g/cm3
and the backer nonwoven fabric (B) is a nonwoven fabric of synthetic fiber which
has a fineness of constituent fiber exceeding that of the nonwoven fabric (A)
and up to 4.5dtex, a fiber length of 2 to 15mm, a basis weight of 50 to 400g/m2,
and a density of 0.15g/cm3 to less than 0.28g/cm3 and wherein
the nonwoven fabrics (A) and (B) are unified by lamination of both fabrics and
entanglement of the fibers constituting both fabrics with each other and impregnated
with an elastic polymer. Thus, the invention provides synthetic leather having
texture similar to that of natural leather and a base to be used in the synthetic
leather at low costs.
