Abstract:
Synthetic multifilament fiber for turfs comprising a polymeric support fiber and one or more optical fibers, the support fiber has a flattened cross section defining two side edges, and the optical fiber or fibers are attached to the support fiber along one or both side edges of said support fiber. Grass tuft comprising a support layer, a light conductive layer, one or more light emitters, and one or more synthetic multifilament fibers, wherein the synthetic multifilament fibers pass through the support layer, wherein the conductive layer is applied to the bottom face of the support layer and adhered to the surface of the multifilament fibers, and wherein the one or more emitters are optically coupled to the light conductive layer so that light emitted by the light emitters is conducted to the optical fibers of the multifilament fibers. Turf or turf module comprising a plurality of grass tufts.
