A novel synthetic resin leather for use as an interior automotive member or a skin material for automotive seats, furniture, etc. It comprises a base fabric and a synthetic resin layer, is reduced in elongation difference between the length direction and the width direction, and has a given thickness. It has no fear of melting upon combustion and has a satisfactory texture and flame retardancy. The synthetic resin leather comprises an interlock-stitch knit base fabric (1) and a synthetic resin layer (2) bonded to one side thereof, wherein the base fabric (1) is a union knit of: a first yarn (3) having a yarn number count of 10 to 40 which is a single-spun yarn of one of rayon, cotton, polyester, nylon, acrylic, and polyurethane or is a blended-spun yarn comprising two or more of these; and a second yarn (4) of 50-300 deniers which is one of a long-fiber crimped yarn, long-fiber yarn of a thermoplastic elastomer, and long-fiber yarn of a polyurethane. The first and second yarns (3) and (4) have been knitted together by interlock stitch so that loops (6) and (6') of the second yarn (4) are surrounded with loops (5) and (5') of the first yarn (3) and that the loops (6) and (6') of the second yarn (4) do not appear successively in each of the length and width directions on each of the front and back sides of the base fabric (1).
