Abstract:
Provided is a system for adjusting load characteristics of a conical spring, in which the amount of time and effort required to change the settings of a wire spring forming apparatus in order to adjust the load characteristics of a conical spring are reduced. A wire spring forming apparatus comprises: a wire delivering means which delivers a wire from a wire delivering part in the axial direction of the wire; a forming tool which is disposed at a position opposite to the wire delivering part and winds the delivered wire in such a way that the turns of the wire are in mutual contact; a spiral forming means for forming the wound wire into a spiral shape; and a turn diameter adjusting means for gradually varying the diameter of the turns of the wire by moving at least one of the wire delivering part and the forming tool while the wire is being delivered. When a conical spring is formed using the wire spring forming apparatus, the system adjusts the load characteristics of the conical spring produced, by delivering a wire from the wire delivering part at a constant acceleration by means of the wire delivering means and adjusting the constant acceleration of said delivery.
