Abstract:

The present disclosure is directed to a system, apparatus, and method for providing Web services from a mobile device. In one arrangement, a mobile device (202) is coupled to a server (210) over a wireless network (114). The mobile device (202) includes a Web services processing module (204) and can receive a server-initiated data push (216). This data push (216) can be implemented using a (WAP) ConnectionOriented (CO) Over the Air (OTA) push. A transport protocol can be bound to the data push, and a Web service message (206) sent to the mobile device (202) via the server initiated data push (216) using the transport protocol. The mobile device (202) can then process the Web service message (206) and provide a response via the server initiated data push (216), if needed.
