Title:
SYSTEM, ASSEMBLY AND METHODS FOR SENSING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003014716
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A distributed fiberoptic radiation sensor is described which may employ one or more radiation sensor elements distributed in a singleoptical fiber. Such optical fibers may be placed on surfaces, oreven within parts, to unobtrusively measure radiation in precise andeven difficult to reach locations. Different sensor elements may respond to different radiation types and wavelength ranges, witheach sensor element causing a different wavelength of light to beemitted or absorbed within the fiber.
