Abstract:

System (2), consisting of: - a blanket cylinder 4 which has a gap 8 in the axial direction, - a printing blanket 6 having a covering layer 10 which comprises a radially outwardly facing printing layer 12, and having a carrier layer 18, wherein the leading end 20 and the trailing end 22 of the carrier layer 18 are devoid of the covering layer, wherein the leading end 20 and the trailing end 22 of the carrier layer 18 are clamped in the gap 8 of the blanket cylinder 4 in such a way that a channel 28 which extends in the axial direction of the blanket cylinder remains between the circumferential ends 24, 26 of the covering layer 10, and wherein the channel 28 is filled completely with a compressible material.
