Abstract:

A system for controlling postures of structures and workpieces, which is used for correcting and controlling the positions of various industrial machines. An object of the present invention is to correct very small displacements of the structures due to thermal expansion and elastic deformation or to control the positions thereof. The amount of displacement of a structure (1) in the axial direction is detected by laser length measuring machines (4, 5), and in accordance with the amount of displacement, a heater (3) is operated or cooling water is supplied through a cooling water path (2). With this operation, the structure (1) is expanded or shrunk, so that its position is controlled and corrected.
