Implementations of a method for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction include, providing a certificate (112) associated with a discount for at least one vendor (102) to a customer (104), receiving notification of a discounted transaction using the certificate (112), and determining a charitable donation associated with the discounted transaction. In other implementations, a method for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction includes generating certificates (112) associated with a vendor (102). The certificates (112) have a face value usable in exchanges with the vendor (102). The method further includes selling the certificates (112) to at least one customer (104) at a price less than the face value. The method also includes determining a charitable donation associated with the sale of each certificate (112) based at least in part on either the face value of the certificate (112) sold or the price of the certificate (112) sold. Implementations of a system for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction include an intermediary (110) providing certificates (112) to customers.
