Abstract:
A system and a method for controlling a set of bistable solenoids for applications for the locking of access means such as doors/gates or containers, where the direct connection of the energy source with the solenoid is eliminated by means of the introduction of a capacitor and a switch between the power source and the solenoid, thus eliminating the need for a dedicated H-bridge for each solenoid and reducing the power and control lines required for each solenoid such that, after the initial control lines, each subsequent solenoid requires only a control line for selecting the appropriate solenoid.
