Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for detecting a vehicle approaching active bollards, wherein the height to which bollards buried in the ground rise is automatically controlled, the system comprising: multiple active bollards which are installed to be able to move upwards from the ground and downwards into the ground; a driving part for driving upward/downward movements of the multiple active bollards; an optical beam sensor part which senses a moving object approaching in a region in front of the active bollards; a control module which acquires information on at least one among the type, the approach distance, the movement speed, and the movement trajectory of the moving object by using an output from the optical beam sensor part, and controls the operation of the driving part on the basis of the acquired information. Accordingly, an approaching vehicle detection system can be operated at low cost and at high speed.
