Abstract:
A system (100) for PET imaging. The system (100) may include a detector module (200) and an electronics module (910). The detector module (200) may include a scintillator array (210) having N rows of scintillators arranged in a first direction and M columns of scintillators arranged in a second direction, a first set of photosensors (220a) coupled to the scintillator array (210) and extending in the second direction, and a second set of photosensors (220b) coupled to the scintillator array (210) and extending in the first direction. The electronics module (910) may detect a first set of electrical signals generated by the first set of photosensors (220a) and a second set of electrical signals generated by the second set of photosensors (220b), and identify a scintillator within the scintillator array (210) that has interacted with an impinging radiation ray relating to an electrical signal of the first set of electrical signals or the second set of electrical signals.
