The present invention relates to a system and a method for determining whether an insect trapper fails through the measurement of a current value and, more particularly, a system and a method for determining whether an insect trapper fails through the measurement of a current value, the system and the method determining whether an insect trapper fails by measuring a current value flowing through the insect trapper so as to monitor whether the insect trapper, which uses a fan to suction insects attracted by light generated from a lamp and strikes the attracted insects to kill the insects, fails, and by comparing the measured current value with a normal current value so as to determine whether the insect trapper fails.
