Abstract:
To guide a user to a destination in a locality (such as a car park or other building), an array of ultrasonic transmitters is distributed within the locality. The user will be carrying a mobile device configured to receive ultrasonically transmitted location codes and to communicate wirelessly. Each transmitter of the array transmits ultrasonically a location code representative of the location of that transmitter. A destination is identified for a user, which may the space at which that user previously parked a vehicle. The mobile device receives the ultrasonically transmitted location codes. Navigation instructions for the user are generated from a current location, determined from the received location code, to the identified destination.
