Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for monitoring food waste, comprising: an image-capturing mechanism configured to generate image capture data by capturing an image of a wastebasket, which is formed to receive food waste through consecutive first and second disposals before being emptied; and a processor configured to acquire image data and depth data through image capture data of the first and second disposals, determine the type of food included in the food waste of the second disposal on the basis of the image data of the second disposal, and calculate the volume of the food waste of the second disposal on the basis of the depth data difference between the consecutive first and second disposals.
