Title:
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING INITIAL COOLING OF SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/098346
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for predicting the initial cooling of a superconducting magnet and, more particularly, for predicting a change of initial cooling temperature for the superconducting magnet when cooling same using a cryogenic cooler. For this purpose, the present invention classifies influential factors related to the cooling of the superconducting magnet into a plurality of control volumes and induces a governing equation for each control volume. Accordingly, a change in cooling temperature of the superconducting magnet can be precisely predicted. On the basis thereof, the reliability of basic materials can be greatly enhanced, which is necessary for designing a high magnetic field measuring apparatus forming a cryogenic environment using a refrigerator. Consequently, cryogenic and high magnetic field measurement equipment, which can obtain enhanced accuracy using the initial cooling prediction results according to the present invention, can be designed and manufactured. Accordingly, reliability and competitiveness can be increased in related and similar fields as well as in the field of cryogenic and high magnetic field measurement equipment, in particular, the field of measuring equipment design.
