Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for providing additional information using image matching. The present invention provides a system for providing additional information using image matching and a method using same. The system comprises: a video input unit for receiving video or image input from a user terminal; a query image determination unit for determining a query image which is to be a query object from the video or image received by the video input unit; a feature point extraction unit for extracting the feature point of the query image determined by the query image determination unit and generating featuring point information on the extracted feature point; a reference meta information database for storing a structure image identifier of the structure image of the structure in which an original image is installed, structure image feature point information on the structure image, and additional information to be provided to the user terminal in correspondence to the structure image identifier; an image matching unit for comparing the feature point information on the query image generated by the feature point extraction unit and the structure image feature point stored in the reference meta information database and determining a matched structure image identifier; and an additional information providing unit for providing stored additional information to the user terminal in correspondence to the structure image identifier determined by the image matching unit.
