Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for sensing passengers in a vehicle by using ultra-wide band radar. According to the present invention, values collected using ultra-wide band radar are processed in the time domain, and thus passengers in a vehicle can be sensed more rapidly than the time required to process values in the frequency domain which are collected using ultra-wide band radar in the related art. In addition, according to the present invention, large movements, such as movements of hands or feet made by passengers in a vehicle, and small movements, such as the breathing of passengers sitting still, are sensed using separate data processing procedures, thus enabling more rapid and accurate sensing of the passengers.
