Abstract:
A system (100) and a method for traffic redirection upon congestion occurring on a road are provided. The system (100) for redirecting traffic on a road comprises a server (01) and at least one traffic redirection device (02). Each of the at least one traffic redirection device (02) is disposed along the road and is coupled with the server (01). The server (01) is configured to receive congestion site information if a congestion occurs on the road, to determine a separation zone (500) covering a location of congestion based on the congestion site information, to determine a redirected traffic pattern, and to send a traffic redirection instruction to the at least one traffic redirection device (02). The at least one traffic redirection device (02) is configured to respond to the traffic redirection instruction, such that the at least one traffic redirection device (02) together displays the redirected traffic pattern on the road to thereby guide vehicles to bypass the separation zone (500).
