Abstract:
A video server is configured to convert spherical image frame data into equirectangular frame data in which a first area corresponding to a viewing angle received from a client device is disposed in a middle area. The video server is further configured to: scale the first area to a first resolution; scale a second area of the equirectangular image, adjacent to the first area thereof, to a second resolution lower than the first resolution; scale a third area of the equirectangular image, adjacent to the first area thereof and not adjacent to the second area thereof, to a third resolution lower than the first resolution; and rearrange the scaled first, second, and third areas such that the scaled second and third areas are adjacent to each other. As a result, reformatted equirectangular image frame data is generated.
