Description:
A SYSTEM FOR PRODUCTION OF CARDBOARD BY CORRUGATED CARDBOARD MACHINE AND A METHOD THEREOF

DESCRIPTION Related Art

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing flat cardboard by corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine as a unit providing combination of papers in layers and a system where this method is employed. The invention particularly relates to use of flat compression roller on the said corrugated cardboard machine instead of corrugated roller having corrugated surface.

State of Art

The cardboards being basic reason for the invention are manufactured from cellulose and scrap paper pulps which can be one or more than one layer and are heavier in comparison to normal papers.

Cardboard manufacturing is the same as paper manufacturing basically since the cardboards are a kind of paper. Manufacturing generally consists of process steps of converting annual plant roots, wood and waste papers into fibre mixture pulp by means of chemical and mechanical ways, conduct of processes such as tampering, cutting, cleaning, drying after adding filling and conditioning agents, and cutting in appropriate sizes. After conduct of dilution and cleaning works before the machine, filtering, compression and drying processes are performed at the machine. The said main processes may vary depending on raw material, area of use and features of manufacturing machine.

Corrugated cardboard machines inspiring the invention serves only for manufacture of corrugated cardboards. Different type of cardboard is not able to be manufactured. It has been necessary to use a separate machine for manufacture of cardboard particularly being subject of the invention. And this means additional investment cost for business enterprises.

Agitation between pulps makes the cardboard less resistant. Capability of products having less agitation to carry load and not to tear is less. Therefore, this influences the stability of the produced product. Because of all of those reasons, the need for a machine providing manufacture of corrugated cardboard and non-corrugated flat cardboards by the same machine and a manufacture method used by such machine have arisen.

Description of the Invention

The invention has been developed with inspiration from existing situation and aims to eliminate the above mentioned disadvantages.

The purpose of the invention particularly is to disclose a method and a machine providing multi-layered flat cardboards by adhering light fine papers on each other. The invention aims to obtain cardboard with layers made from low weighted fine papers instead of making it from paper pulp, and thus have final product of high resistance. Therefore, it is aimed to disclose an embodiment protecting the product more in respect to resistance to long transport conditions, tearing and crushing. One purpose of the invention is to obtain more than one type of product (corrugated cardboard, cardboard) by adding flat compressing roller to the machine manufacturing only one type of product (corrugated cardboard). Thus, requirement to purchase and use separate machine for each type of product is eliminated so the investment costs are reduced.

The invention also aims to enhance the production and time efficiency by the system having serial production line.

In order to achieve the above purposes, the invention contains a corrugated cardboard machine using flat surface compressing roller instead of corrugated roller as unit where the low weighted papers are combined.

The system being subject of the invention, as illustrated in Figure 1 , consists of

- at least one supply unit (10) supplying paper,

- at least one drying unit (15) removing the moisture of the papers,

- at least one combining unit (30) as shown in figure 2, containing compressing roller (31), flat surface compressing roller (38) not containing curly surface, glue applying roller (32), glue chamber (35) and steam sprayer (36) where the papers are combined and paper couples are obtained,

- at least one final glue applying unit (51) when it is intended to obtain more than two layers, - at least one final gluing unit (52) when it is intended to obtain more than two layers,

- at least one cutting and/or folding line unit (60) and

The system also contains pre-cutting unit (61) located at the end of final gluing unit (52) and sorting out the not yet normalized cardboards from proper ones, transversal cutting and cutting-folding line unit (62) providing transversal cutting of cardboard and/or formation of folding lines and longitudinal cutting unit (63) located after the said unit (62) and realizing longitudinal cutting of cardboard.

The system enables manufacturing of flat cardboard having two or more layers. The production line shown in Figure 1 has been illustrated for five layered production. For that reason, it consists of two combining unit (30) and five supply units (10) containing final layer supply unit (50) located before final gluing unit (52). When more layers are desired, a combining unit (30) and two supply units (10) supplying that are added in the beginning of the line.

In the illustrated example of the preferred system, one drying unit (15) for each supply unit (10), single final glue applying unit (51) for applying glue before gluing all layers, and single final gluing unit (52) and one collection unit (70) are used. The number of cutting and cutting-folding line units (61 , 62 and 63) is also one. The combining unit (30) used in the system also contains conveyor belt (41) providing conveyance of paper couples leaving the said combining unit (30) for helping gluing and regular proceeding, adjustment roller (33) contacting the said glue applying roller (32) as indicated in Figure 2 and adjusting the amount of glue on the roller (32), glue scraper (34) scraping and cleaning the roller (33), conveyor rollers (39) carrying and directing the paper and/or paper couples during proceeding and scraper (40) contacting the said compressing roller (31) and cleaning the surface of the roller (31).

Corrugated cardboard/ cardboard manufacturing method where the above mentioned system is used comprises the process steps of a) drying the papers to be glued in drying unit (15), b) combination of two papers onto each other according to the thickness of the desired cardboard by at least one combination unit (30) containing compressing roller (38) with flat surface not having curly surface to give corrugated form to the cardboard, c) when desired to obtain more than two layers, applying glue to paper couple or couples at final glue applying unit (51), gluing the couples at final gluing unit (52) and/or gluing the couple or couples to the final layer from the final layer supply unit (50) and d) cutting the cardboard formed at the cutting and/or cutting-folding line unit (60) and/or forming cutting-folding line on the cardboard.

In addition to the said process steps, the method comprises process steps of passing the paper couples coming from the combining unit (30) through the conveying belt (41) so as to help gluing and regular proceeding of them, separation of the faulty ones of cardboard strip by pre-cutting unit (61) located at the end of the final gluing unit (52), transversal cutting of the cardboard of which faulty ones are sorted out by cutting and cutting-folding line unit (60) after pre-cutting unit (61) and/or forming the fold line, after completion of transversal cutting, longitudinal cutting of them by longitudinal cutting unit (63) and after completion of the said cutting and cutting- folding line formation, collection and stockpiling of the cardboard at the collection unit (70).

The protection area of this application has been specified under claims and cannot be limited to the descriptions only given as sampling above. It is clear that any innovation can be provided by a person skilled in the related art by use of the similar embodiments and/or can also apply this embodiment in other areas for similar purposes used in the related art. Therefore, it is also clear that such embodiments lack of novelty criteria.
