Abstract:
System for protection of houses against floods is an automated system, being self-activating in the case of floods, where after the floods it returns to the initial position. Immediate beside to the walls (12), all around the building (13) under protection, there are channels (1) wherein are set barriers - envelopes (5) of water proof material which are stretched on the carriers (4), where the carriers (4) are fixed to the tube (2) which, together with the floating material, that it is coated with, represents a float (3), being set at the bottom of the channel (1). In the case of flood, water passes through the openings (19), made in the covers of the channel (17), into the channel (1) wherein are the above mentioned float (3), which moves up as the level of the water in the channel (1) rises and in such a way the barrier around the building (13) which is under protection against floods, is created.

Claims:

C L A I M S

1. System for protection against floods, is characterized in, that it comprises several, close to the building (13), which is being protected against the floods, along all outer walls (12), each to other connected channels (1) which are covered by movable covers (16,17); that in the channel (1) is set a tube (2) sealed tightly at its ends, that all along the length coated by floating material and, together with it, representing a float (3); that the carrier (4) of an envelope (5) is fixed to a pipe (2) and that around the carrier (4) is stretched the envelope (5) of a water proof material; that the covers (16, 17) at one end are fixed in a movable connection to the channels (1) while, at its opposite ends, there is formed a gap (20) wide enough to let an easy passage of the carrier (4) of the envelope (5) and together with the envelope (5); that onto the walls (12) of the building (13) are fixed the pillars (14) with space bars (11); and that below the cover (16, 17) are set the bearings (8), and that to the covers (16, 17) fixed in a firm connection by means of an element (7) the stoppers (6) the geometry of which corresponds to the shape of the float (3) and therewith in the extreme case the stoppers (6) and the float (3) form a sealing connection.

2. System for protection of houses against floods, according to Claim 1 , is characterized in, that the carriers (4) of the envelope (5) are set at the very ends of the tube (2), and at the randomly chosen points along the tube (2).

3. System for protection of houses against floods, according to Claims 1 and 2, is characterized in, that the pillars (14) being arranged along the walls (12) of the building (13) so that the number and arrangement of the pillars (14) is directly proportional to the number and arrangement of the carriers (4).

4. System for protection of houses against floods, according to Claim 1 , is characterized in, that one end of the space bars (11) is fixed to the pillars (14) while the other end thereof is firmly fixed to the wall (12) of the building (13).

System for protection of houses against floods, according to Claim 1 , is characterized in, that cover (17) has openings (19) thereon.

Description:

SYSTEM FOR PROTECTION AGAINST FLOODS

Technical Field:

Invention herewith described belongs to the field of constructions for particular purposes, more closely to the buildings that provide protection against extreme climate conditions, i.e. against floods as dangerous effects. According to the International Patent Classification, its IPC 7 class is: E 04 H 9/14.

Technical Problem:

Technical problem solved by herewith explained invention comprises a solution of how structurally to design a system for protection against floods so as to prevent coming of water to the building under protection.

State-of-Art:

The invention in the subject refers to the protection of buildings against floods. There are various systems for protection against floods:

The US patent specification no. 4,488,36 describes a system wherein in a stack of compartments, which surround the building which is being protected, there is a material which is, when needed, taken out from the housing and in such a way it protects the building against floods.

The US specification number 6,216,399 describes a device which consists of a protective layer, being set in a housing, and connected to a float. During the floods, the float moves along with the level of water and in such a way protective layer unwraps from the carrier and creates a baffle around the building. The problem with above mentioned inventions is to wind up manually the protective layer upon the floods, and that they are not safe enough.

The invention in the subject is a new way of solving the problem of protection against floods, where, once set system needs no maintenance, and the whole system is a self- protection of the building, i.e. as moving the protective envelope is connected with the level of water around the building.

Brief Description of the Subject of Invention:

Subject of invention is to provide protection of buildings against floods. Difference and novelty in comparison to up to now existing systems for prevention of flooding the buildings is in that this subject of invention represents a beforehand automated system, being self-activating one in the case of floods, while upon the floods it returns to the initial position. Close to the building, around the whole building under protection, there are channels dug wherein are set barriers - envelopes of water proof material, which are connected to the float which is set at the bottom of the channel. In the case of floods, through the openings, made in the covers of the channel, water penetrates into the channel wherein is above mentioned float, which lifts up together with rising of the level of water in the channel and in such a way it creates the barrier around the building or building under the protection.

Detailed Description of the Invention:

As represented in the figures of the drawing, this system for protection against floods is adjusted for protection of houses and other similar buildings 13. Immediate to the building 13, around the building 13, Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, along all its outer walls 12, the channels 1 are dug. In the channel 1 is set a barrier against floods comprising a tube 2 being coated with a floating material. The tube 2 is closed at its endings so that water cannot pass into the tube, and thus together with the coated material, it represents a float 3. Firmly connected onto the tube 2 are carriers 4 of the envelope 5, and that on the ends of the tube 2, and on the chosen positions along the tubes 2, so as to achieve improved firmness and safety of the system. Carriers 4 are made from tubes (preferably of aluminium). On the carriers 4 are made the openings 15 so as to set by means of an envelope 5 in any solid separable connection of water tight material, e.g. nylon. On the channel 1 are set two covers 16, 17, which are removable when needed for the purpose of cleaning the channel 1. Cover 16, that is set farther from the wall 12 with regard to the cover 17, and has openings 19 achieved wherethrough during the floods water passes into the channel 1 , in the case of floods. Covers are set and fixed in a movable, separable connection onto the channel 1, e.g. articulated connection 18. Covers 16 and 17 have no contact each to other, but there is a certain gap 20 in- between them, Fig. 1 and Fig. 5, through which the carrier 4 of the envelope 5 passes, and the stretched water proof envelope 5.

Immediate beside the building 13, by space bars 11, are fixed the pillars 14 useful as directing elements which prevent bending and falling the carrier 4 at the exit from the channel 1 in the case of floods. Space bars 11 provide firmness and equal distance of the pillar 14 in relation to the wall 12.

Stoppers 6 are fixed onto the covers 16, 17, by means of an element 7, the internal diameter of the stoppers corresponds to the external diameter of the float 3, so that in the case of heavy floods the float 3 is set in very close contact onto the stoppers 6, and they form water tight sealing connection which prevents water from passing further through the gap 20. Lifting the barrier is successfully achieved by setting a bearing 8 immediately below cover 16, 17.

This system is automatic, it can be understood from the way in which it functions. The principle of operating of this system is as the following: in the case of floods pushing toward the building 13, being protected against the floods, passes through the

openings 19 being achieved only in the cover 16, and which cover the channel 1 dug all along the building 13. Regarding that in the channel are set the tubes 2 coated with the floating material, the endings of which are in water tight sealing, the float 3 moves up, due to the increase in the level of water in the channel, where together with the float the carrier 4, being fixed to the tube 2. Carriers 4 make solid points of the barrier formed by means of the envelope 5 of water proof material (e.g. nylon) together with nylon 4, so that the barrier lifts up with the increase of the level of water in the channel and in such a way the building is protected against floods. Carrier 4 and the envelope 5 pass through the gap 20 made of the covers 16 and 17. So as to prevent falling out of the carriers 4, there are pillars 14 set to direct thereof, being by means of the space bars 11 solidly fixed to the wall 12 of the building 13.

Best Mode for Industrial Application:

Subject matter of the invention can be used as a system for protection of all buildings against floods, e.g. for the protection of all buildings near the river, lake, sea etc. Described invention is only one variante of the invention which may be modified on appropriate way depending of configuaration of the ground and concrete situation.
