Abstract:
Disclosed is a system for treating wastewater generated during a recycling process for recovering valuable metals from waste lithium-ion batteries. An aspect of the present invention provides a system for zero-discharge treatment of wastewater generated during recycling of waste lithium-ion batteries, the system comprising: a heavy metal removal unit configured to remove heavy metal components from wastewater generated during a valuable metal recovery process; an organic material oxidation unit configured to receive the wastewater, from which the heavy metal components have been removed, to remove organic materials from the wastewater; a chemical recovery unit configured to recover strong bases and strong acids from the wastewater, from which the organic materials have been removed by the organic material oxidation unit; a concentration unit configured to additionally remove salts from the wastewater, from which the strong bases and the strong acids have been recovered; and a reusable water production unit configured to filter the treatment water, from which the salts have been removed by the concentration unit, to produce reusable water.
