A method and system for harvesting energy. The system comprises: a power management system (130) including a solar cell (125) integrated with a display panel (120) in a common housing (110); a capacitor (133) and a rechargeable battery (137) connected to the power management system (130) to receive power from the solar cell (125) and provide electrical power first from the capacitor (133) and second from the rechargeable battery (137) to electronic components (123) including the display panel (120) that are engaged in monitoring processes and devices deployed in isolated locations, wherein the electronic components (123) include a microprocessor (140) programmed to provide data collected from the processes and devices for displaying on the display panel (120) and wireless transmission to a remote monitoring station; a rotatable stem (147) operated by a step-motor (165) and connected to the common housing (110), wherein the rotatable stem (147) orients the integrated display panel (120) and solar cell (125) toward sunlight (190) according to an internal time clock synchronizing movement via the step motor (165) and thereby maximizes harvesting of electrical energy.
