Abstract:
A system for imaging aboard a mobile platform and methods for making and using same. An imaging device of the mobile platform can be synchronized with one or more components of the mobile platform. The imaging device can be exposed at a plurality of positions the components to obtain images. Allowed positions of the components that do not obstruct a field-of-view of the imaging device can be determined using the images. The imaging device can be controlled according to the allowed positions to avoid imaging the components. Furthermore, a threshold angle of the imaging device relative to the mobile platform can be determined for avoiding obstruction of the field-of-view by the components. The present systems and methods are especially suitable for imaging aboard unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
