Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a compound that inhibits the binding of the ALS-related mutant SOD1 and Derlin-1, a drug containing the compound, and a method for treating ALS by administering the drug to a patient. More specifically, the compound is represented by general formula (1). [In formula (1), X represents a sulfur atom or -CH=CH-, A1-A4 each independently are a carbon atom or nitrogen atom and at least one of A1-A4 is a nitrogen atom, R1 is a 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolyl group (or 3,4-dihydro-1(2H-quinolyl group), 3,4-dihydro-4,4-dimethyl-1(2H)-quinolyl group, 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-1-benzazepinyl group, or substituent represented by formula (2) (in formula (2), R4 is an unsubstituted or optionally substituted phenyl group, unsubstituted or optionally substituted pyridyl group, or unsubstituted or optionally substituted naphthyl group, R5 is a hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, lower alkenyl group, lower alkynyl group (optionally including an oxygen atom and/or double bond), or an unsubstituted or optionally substituted aromatic lower alkyl group), R2 represents a hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, lower acyl group, or an unsubstituted or optionally substituted aromatic lower alkyl group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom, or R2 and R3 may bond to each other to form a ring.]
