Abstract:
A tactile display device capable of displaying image information by the height differences of tactile pins caused by the extension and retraction of the tactile pins disposed in longitudinal and lateral matrix shape, wherein solenoids (4) for extending and retracting the tactile pins (10) are disposed on a movable unit (5) movable in the longitudinal and lateral directions of the tactile pins, in the longitudinal one row shape, every set quantity of the tactile pins in the vertical direction and the lateral and longitudinal movements of the movable unit are repeated alternately so that all tactile pins can be vertically moved by the solenoids, whereby the number of parts can be reduced and the intervals of the adjacent tactile pins in vertical and lateral directions can be reduced by decreasing the number of the solenoids for extending and retracting the tactile pins.
