Abstract:
A tailgate opening and closing device (100) for use in a vehicle, comprising: a tailgate (10) swingable between the closed position (Pc) and open position (Po) with respect to an opening part (210) of a vehicle body (200); a contactless sensor (20) disposed in the opening part (210); and a drive control unit (30) for controlling the drive to open and close the tailgate (10). The contactless sensor (20) detects the presence or absence of an obstacle when the tailgate (10) is in the closed position (Pc). The drive control unit (30) initiates the drive to close the tailgate (10) from the open position (Po) to the closed position (Pc) on the basis of a close command from a user, and does not initiate the drive to close if an obstacle is detected. The present invention thereby provides a highly safe tailgate opening and closing device (100) capable of reducing wasted time which is stressful to the user.
