Abstract:
A tape dispenser provided with a dispenser body having a tape retainer and a tape cutting blade and formed to such sizes that can be held by hand. The dispenser body is provided at its front portion with a member capable of pressing tape against an object on which the tape is to be pasted, and the blade is positioned ahead of the tape pressing member when the blade is in a free state. At least one of the tape pressing member and blade has escape displacement characteristics relative to the other which are displayed when a force is applied to the tape pressing member (namely, such displacement characteristics that permit the blade and tape pressing member to be displaced relatively to each other so that an angle between the dispenser body holding direction and the direction connecting a tape pressing point of the tape pressing member and the blade together decreases during a tape pressing and pasting operation). This enables the self-adhesion of a cut tape prior to the pasting of the tape on paper to be prevented reliably, and also the picking of the tape so as to draw out the same to be rendered unnecessary. Thus, the soiling of an adhesive surface of the tape and the occurrence of imperfect adhesion of the tape due to the dirt from the fingers can be prevented reliably. Moreover, the tape can be pasted over a predetermined length on paper without being wrinkled as it is drawn out with substantially no possibility of being cut erroneously and damaged. In addition, the tape can be cut easily without always varying the dispenser body holding angle greatly.
