Abstract:
The present invention is designed to reduce the electric power consumed by a capstan-driven tape reader, and prevent the generation of heat in the capstan motor thereof. When a detector means (15) detects the fact that a feed magnet (5) has not been excited for a predetermined period of time, a capstan motor (3) is stopped by control means (23, 24).
