Abstract:
A separating device for removing a separation tape in a short time and at high speed in
the step of enclosing and sealing an article such as a notification in an envelope having
its pasted flap portion linearly coated with adhesive in advance and protected by
a thin separation tape; and a sealing device for bending and bonding the flap portion.
The sealing device for a taped envelope (1) is characterized by comprising a carrying
path for carrying an envelope with its bottom portion at the forward end, a tape
separating stage and a flap bonding stage provided in the middle of the carrying
path, a means (27) provided in the tape separating stage to temporarily stop carrying
the envelope, a tape separating mechanism (40) for separating a tape by engaging
with the inner surface of the envelope flap portion and resuming carrying while
engaging during that stopping, a means (37) provided in the flap bonding stage
to temporarily stop carrying the envelope, and a mechanism for bending and bonding
the envelope flap portion during that stopping.
