Abstract:
A process for producing a tapered multifilament yarn which comprises feeding a stretchable filament to a drawing apparatus and changing the takeoff speed relative to the feeding speed to thereby change the thickness of this filament in the lengthwise direction. The process, which is for easily and efficiently producing a tapered multifilament yarn, is characterized in that in lengthwise-direction part of the filament, the speed of takeoff with heating is made slower than the feeding speed to thereby shrink and thicken the part of this filament. Thus, the proportion of the thickness of the thickest part of a tapered multifilament yarn to the thickness of the thinnest part thereof can be easily made high.
