Abstract:
Provided is a tapered roller bearing for which the tapered rollers and cage can be easily integrated with a simple structure, and increased load capacity and reduced size are possible. The tapered roller bearing is provided with an inner ring having a tapered raceway surface on the outer circumferential surface, an outer ring having a tapered raceway surface on the inner circumferential surface, multiple tapered rollers 4 that roll between the raceway surfaces, and a cage 5 for holding the tapered rollers 4 in pockets so as to roll freely. The tapered rollers 4 have a recessed area 4b in the center of an end face. The cage 5 has, in the pockets 6, protruding areas 5e for engaging with the recessed areas 4b as parts for keeping the tapered rollers 4 from falling out. The tapered rollers 4 have a guiding groove 8 for guiding a protruding area 5e toward the recessed area 4b from the outer diameter section of the end face on which the recessed area 4b is formed, and the depth of the area 9 of the guiding groove 8 that connects to the recessed area 4b is shallower than the depth of the recessed area 4b.
