Abstract:
In the present invention, a tapered roller bearing is provided with an inner ring, an outer ring having an outer ring raceway surface, and tapered rollers each having a rolling surface. An average value of carbon concentrations in constituent steel of the inner ring located between an inner ring raceway surface and a position 10 µm deep in a vertical direction from the inner ring raceway surface, an average value of carbon concentrations in constituent steel of the outer ring located between the outer ring raceway surface and a position 10 µm deep in a vertical direction from the outer ring raceway surface, and an average value of carbon concentrations in constituent steel of the tapered roller located between the rolling surface and a position 10 µm deep in a vertical direction from the rolling surface are 1.0 mass percent or lower. An average value of nitride concentrations in the constituent steel of the inner ring located between the inner ring raceway surface and the position 10 µm deep in the vertical direction from the inner ring raceway surface and an average value of nitride concentrations in the constituent steel of the outer ring located between the outer ring raceway surface and the position 10 µm deep in the vertical direction from the outer ring raceway surface are 0.15 mass percent or higher.
