Abstract:
In this tapped inductor type switching power source, the load on a switching element is reduced, and it is possible to respond quickly and stably to wide-range variation in an output voltage and an output current. This tapped inductor type switching power source has: a reactor that is provided with a primary coil and a secondary coil, is provided with an intermediate tap at a connection point of an end terminal of the primary coil and a start terminal of the secondary coil, said intermediate tap being connected to an output terminal; a switching element that is subjected to on/off control to make a current path between an input terminal and a start terminal of the primary coil be conducting or cut off; a first rectifying element that allows the conduction of a current flowing from a ground terminal to the start terminal of the primary coil; a second rectifying element that allows the conduction of a current flowing from the ground terminal to an end terminal of the secondary coil; a smoothing capacitor that is connected between the output terminal and the ground terminal; and a switch element that can make a current path between the ground terminal and the end terminal of the secondary coil be conducting or cut off.
