Abstract:
A tapping method includes the following steps. A step of engaging a fore-end portion of a tap (47) with a prepared hole provided in a work piece, the tap (47) provided on a tapping tool (37) that is installed on a rotary mold-determining device (7) rotatably provided on a punch press; a step of rotating a controlling motor (M) of the rotary mold-determining device (7) in a normal direction so as to rotate the tap (47) in a normal direction when the fore-end portion of the tap (47) is in a state where it is engaged with the prepared hole; and a step of removing the tap (47) from the prepared hole in the work piece by stopping the rotation in a normal direction of the controlling motor (M) of the rotary mold-determining device (7) and reversely rotating the motor, where the stop and reverse rotation of the controlling motor (M) are performed when the motor is detected to have rotated a predetermined number of times or when a predetermined time period has passed.
