Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a tapping screw and a fastening structure using the same, with which it is possible to decrease the size and frequency of chips produced. Provided is a tapping screw 10 which comprises a head 11 and a shaft 20 provided with at least one screw thread 25 and which is screwed into a pilot hole in a mating material, wherein the surface roughness at at least the apex of the screw thread has a maximum height roughness (Rz) of 1.0 or less, preferably 0.8 or less.
