Abstract:
This target setting device sets a target for correcting a gaze tracking unit (3) that tracks the gaze of a subject. Said target setting device is provided with the following: a gaze-bounds estimation unit (1, S1) that estimates gaze bounds over which the subject's gaze moves; a candidate-point extraction unit (1, S3, S4) that extracts candidate points (Tc) for the abovementioned target from the gaze bounds estimated by the gaze-bounds estimation unit (1, S1); a candidate-point evaluation unit (1, S5) that uses a plurality of indices to evaluate how appropriate each candidate point extracted by the candidate-point extraction unit (1, S3, S4) would be as the target; and a target setting unit (1, S6-S11) that, on the basis of how appropriate a candidate point would be as the target, as evaluated by the candidate-point evaluation unit (1, S5), determines whether or not to set that candidate point as the target.
