Abstract:
In order to reduce jerk during transition from acceleration to deceleration in addition to suppressing unnecessary acceleration while traveling with driving assistance, this target vehicle speed generation device of a driving assistance vehicle (a self-driving vehicle) is mounted with an automated driving control unit (2) (a controller) which comprises multiple vehicle speed command generation units (21) and which generates a target vehicle speed when the vehicle is traveling or stopping. The automated driving control unit (2) is provided with a read-ahead vehicle speed command calculation unit (22) and a lowest vehicle speed command mediation unit (23). For each speed command value generated by the multiple speed command generation units (21), the read-ahead vehicle speed command calculation unit (22) calculates read-ahead vehicle speed command values from the present time until the elapse of a prescribed time. The lowest vehicle speed command mediation unit (23) selects, as the target vehicle speed, the lowest of the multiple read-ahead vehicle speed command values calculated by the read-ahead vehicle speed command calculation unit (22).
