Abstract:
Provided is a new taste information providing device which provides information pertaining to the taste of rice balls or cooked rice packs sold in stores and contributes to the sales promotion of the rice balls or cooked rice packs. The taste information providing device, which evaluates the taste of rice balls (or cooked rice packs), comprises: a first data storage unit which acquires a taste value measured by a taste analyzer for rice used in each of a plurality of kinds of rice balls (or cooked rice packs); a second data storage unit which acquires user evaluation information that is an evaluation value pertaining to the taste by means of sensory evaluation of a user for each of the plurality of kinds of rice balls (or cooked rice packs) purchased by the user in stores; a diagram information generation unit which generates diagram information in which the taste value corresponding to each of the plurality of kinds of rice balls (or cooked rice packs) is associated with the user evaluation information; and a control unit which transmits the diagram information about each of the plurality of kinds of rice balls (or cooked rice packs) to a terminal device connected through a communication line, and displays the diagram information. The taste analyzer measures the taste value of dry rice before being cooked and also measures the taste value of cooked rice. The taste value includes both the taste value of dry rice before being cooked and the taste value of cooked rice. The diagram information is coordinate information or map information obtained by plotting, on coordinate axes, the user evaluation information and the taste values of the plurality of kinds of rice balls (or cooked rice packs).
