Abstract:
Provided are a telescopic optical system and an optical instrument having the telescopic optical system that can be made small and lightweight.
A telescopic optical system (10) that is used in an optical instrument such as a telescope is provided with, in order from an object side, an objective optical system (1) and an erecting optical system (2) that erects an image formed by this objective optical system (1). The erecting optical system (2) has: a first reflective mirror (22) that is a first reflective member that has a reflective surface that reflects light from the objective optical system (1); a second reflective mirror (23) that is a second reflective member that has a reflective surface that reflects light reflected by the first reflective mirror (22); and a roof prism (25) that has three or more surfaces including at least one roof surface, one of these surfaces forming an incident surface, another of these surfaces forming an exit surface, and is a third reflective member that makes light reflected by the second reflective mirror (23) incident from the incident surface, reflects the same by the aforementioned surface, and then emits the same from the exit surface.
