Abstract:
A television backlight driving device and a driving method thereof. The television backlight driving device comprises: an AC-DC module (10) and an LED driving module (20). When power is on, the AC-DC module (10) converts an input AC mains power into a DC voltage for supplying power to an LED light strip of a backlight. In contrast to the existing backlight driving method, the present invention does not require a further DC-DC processing, and therefore the system cost of the power supply is reduced and the system efficiency is increased. When the LED driving module (20) determines that a detected current is greater than a preset current and less than a first threshold, a duty cycle is adjusted to control the constant current output of an LED current. When the detected current is greater than the first threshold or less than the preset current, the LED driving module (20) feeds back the detected current to the AC-DC module (10). The AC-DC module (10) controls the magnitude of the DC voltage according to the detected current. The different adjusting method can save the power consumption and stabilize the current output at the same time. The present invention has a simple circuit structure and high-reliability system.
