Abstract:
Provided is a temperature control material which can exactly and clearly detect whether or not a preset temperature is reached depending on an electrical change from a conductive state to an insulated state or a conductivity-reduced state, which has high temporal stability, high chemical stability, good durability and excellent weatherability, and which is highly sensitive and practically useful. In the temperature control material 1, a hot-melt substance 11 thermally melting at a melting point corresponding to a temperature to be detected is separated, via a porous material 10, from a conductive paste 7 containing a conductive powder 5. The temperature control material 1 is in a conductive state due to the conductive paste 7. When the hot-melt substance 11 in a hot-melt state permeates through the porous material 10 and irreversibly penetrates and/or diffuses into the conductive paste 7, the temperature control material 1 is brought into an insulated state or a conductivity-reduced state.
